I'm testing out the new Microsoft Windows 7 Beta. It is very stable for a beta (works better than Vista SP1). Media center is not functional (I expect many new post beta features & fixes). Microsoft really surprised me with this release. I will be getting the license keys tomorrow from MS. My test material is a 2003 Dell Inspiron 600M (I swapped the motherboard with one from an old D600). It has a 1.6ghz Intel Centrino, 2gb DDR pc2700 ram. ATI Radeon 9000 32mb version. Only 20gb hard drive for beta testing purposes. The funny thing is that Windows 7 beta runs smoother than XP Pro SP3 on this ancient hardware. Also tested on my AMD Athlon x2 3800+ with 4gb ddr pc3200. All sata. So far, so good... Next up... Windows 7 Beta x64 on Intel Intel Core i7 940 Nehalem 3.2GHz overclocked LGA 1366 water cooled. 16GB DDR3 ram. All drives scsci/sata...
